Les Cavistes brings the Savoir Fair to Switzerland

Is there anything nicer than strolling through French vineyards, listening to the glowing stories of legendary winemakers and then tasting the mature drops? Our wine shop, the virtual wine cellar, is the essence of all of these experiences. We owe a lot to generations of Burgundy winemakers that produce wines at world class levels, some of which sometimes achieve record prices. The rarities - even those in our wine shop - often come from vineyards that are very small or fragmented, because some winemakers manage only a few hectares. We keep your eyes and ears open on every trip, because in addition to the big names, aspiring winemakers with exceptionally great quality wines have emerged at affordable prices. In order to give you a feeling for our range, we briefly introduce you to some friendly winemakers:
- Domaine Jean-Louis Chavy
- Domaine Bzikot Père & Fils
- Domaine Thierry & Pascale Matrot
- Château du Moulin-à-vent / Roc des Boutires
- Domaine Château des Quarts
- Domaine Vincent Bouzereau
- Domaine Roux
- Domaine Jean Fery
- Domaine Gérard Raphet

The Romans already recognized the Burgundy as a special cultivation area and dedicated their attention to the terroir. The Burgundy wines that we offer in our wine shop today have nothing to do with the Roman drops from back then, but the region still benefits from the best circumstances. Promising prerequisites for a top wine-growing area. The Burgundy - the cradle of viticulture - is more exciting than ever.

A wine shop with the crème de la crème

Burgundy wines are a reflection of this extraordinary "terroir". Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Gamay grapes convince both lovers and critics. Based on the grape varieties, the Burgundy is divided into five areas: Chablis in the northwest, the Côte d'Or in the heart (with the Côte de Nuits in the north and the Côte de Beaune in the south), adjacent to this, the Côte Chalonnaise and the Mâconnais as well as Beaujolais in South. The latter with its granite floors is predestined for the Gamay grape variety, while in the remaining limestone-shaped wine-building areas, mainly Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes are grown. Since the Burgundy region consists of a large number of fragmented locations, the classification system is an art in itself. It is the biggest incentive of the winemakers to work out the core of the entire region, the villages or the individual top positions and to map them with excellent interpretations. It includes regional appellations (54 %), municipal "Village" wines (34 %), Premier Crus (10 %) and Grand Crus (2 %). You can find the "crème de la crème" of French wines here in our wine shop.

Burgundy wines are a tribute to the great art of making wine

The Burgundy region (french "Bourgogne") is our place of longing. Again and again we are drawn to this wine-growing paradise and to its winegrowers, the magician of wine making. In our webshop, we offer you a finely curated diversity that is only possible through personal contact with friends, our passion and tasting on-site. You will also find every wine in our webshop in our private wine cellar. We recommend each of them from the heart - to our friends, our families and our customers. So what makes the region so special for us? A different wind is blowing in Burgundy. The soil is demanding, the wine makers need to work very diligently. There is not one characteristic style, because Burgundy wines are strongly shaped by the terroir and the circumstances differ from place to place, often even from street to street. This variety and complexity brings freshness, elegance and liveliness into the Burgundy wines. During our travels, we learned that the winemakers are devoting themselves to their passion: the production of fantastic wines. And that connects us.
