Maison Jean Loron

The various estates of Maison Jean Loron are spread across the Beaujolais and the Côte Mâconnaise regions: Domaine des Billards & Domaines de la Pirolette in Saint-Amour, Domaine de la Vieille Église in Juliénas, Domaine de la Rochelle & Domaine X et N Barbet in Chénas & Moulin-à-Vent, Château de Fleurie in Fleurie, Château Bellevue in Morgon, Château de la Terrière in Brouilly and Régnié, La Croix Blanche in Lantignié for our Beaujolais-Villages, and Domaine Auvigue.

All estates have wonderfully situated parcels of land where fantastic white wines—mainly from Chardonnay—and red wines from Gamay Noir grapes are cultivated. All estates affiliated with Maison Loron are part of the first viticultural Geopark in France, which was recently designated a UNESCO World Heritage site.

For us at Les Cavistes, Domaine Auvigue, with its 31 hectares of vineyards, delivers the exceptional Saint-Véran Chardonnay "Les Poncetys," which was recently awarded the Bronze Prix des Lecteurs 2024 in France. We are proud to have discovered this wonderful wine and its producers, and to now include this Saint-Véran in our carefully curated selection.

Not far from the Roche de Solutré, which is classified as a Grand Site of France, the Domaines Auvigue look back on a long history in the heart of the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation. The vineyard area stretches to the borders of the Mâconnais, with vines nestled into the village of Chardonnay. The estate was founded in the 1940s and began its work in the 1970s, inspired by the many expressive variations of Chardonnay from these exceptional terroirs. In 1976, Domaine Auvigue joined Maison Jean Loron. Over the years, the style of the wines has been refined. Céline Hirsch in the cellar and Clémence Perrachon in the vineyards work with millimeter-precise methods to give the wines their beautiful minerality and tension.
